Cairo

📍 Cairo: capital of Egypt

Cairo is the capital of Egypt and the country's largest city. Located on the banks of the Nile, it is home to over 20 million people. It is a bustling city, rich in history and contrasts: between modernity and tradition, between ancient ruins and bustling urban life.

🏛 A city at the heart of history

Cairo is famous for its proximity to the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, the last remnants of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It is also home to the Egyptian Museum, which houses thousands of artifacts from ancient Egypt, including the treasure of Tutankhamun.

But Cairo is not only the Egypt of the pharaohs: it is also an Islamic and Coptic city with many historic mosques, ancient churches and medieval districts, such as Old Cairo and Khan el-Khalili, a famous oriental market.
